With 198 million inhabitants, Nigeria is Africa’s most populous country. It is also home to one of the world’s largest youth populations. [1] Though maternal and infant mortality are high in Nigeria, family planning use has remained low, with only 10% of married women using a modern method of contraception. [2]
In October 2014, the Federal Ministry of Health released the Nigeria Family Planning Blueprint (Scale-Up Plan), which is a comprehensive, five-year costed scale up plan to help the Government of Nigeria meet its Family Planning 2020 goals.
