On June 12, 2015, the Ministry of Health of North Kivu province officially established a Provincial Permanent Technical Multi-sectorial Committee (CTMPP) on Family Planning. The CTMPP is comprised of local government, civil society, and faith-based organization leaders. Following the lead of the National CTMP, it aims to be a strong driver of family planning advocacy.

The Technical Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and other high-level government officials will attend the upcoming International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) in Nusa Dua, Indonesia. At an on-site auxiliary event on Tuesday, November 26th, the Technical Advisor and Ministers of Health, Education, and Plan will showcase The DRC’s Emergence and Family Planning Leadership through 2030.

The Government of Tanzania’s spending on family planning from its own sources surpassed the expected budget allocation this fiscal year (FY). The Health Minister announced at a June Parliament meeting that the government released a total of five billion Tanzanian shillings (approximately USD 2.2 million) in FY2014-15 – 2.5 times what was initially allocated. The original allocation was two billion Tanzanian shillings (Tsh).

On August 24, 2015, the Nyeri County Reproductive Health and Family Planning Strategy 2015-2025 was launched. The costed strategy lays out the county's priorities and will be used as an advocacy and resource mobilization tool for implementation.
 
Advance Family Planning (AFP) partner African Women Leaders Network for Reproductive Health and Family Planning (AWLN) and local partner Nawiri Life Foundation worked closely with the Nyeri County Health Department to develop the plan.

On August 7, 2015, Dr. Dileep Kumar, Civil Surgeon and Member Secretary of Jehanabad District Health Society in Bihar, India sent a directive to all local health centers and hospitals to observe “Fixed Day Static Services.” The Jehanabad population now has ready access to quality female sterilization services every Thursday throughout the year, in addition to the spacing methods regularly offered at health centers.

Kitui County in Kenya allocated US $161,529 for family planning in its 2015/16 budget. This is the first time the county has included a specific budget line for family planning.

Results from the Performance Monitoring and Accountability 2020 (PMA2020) survey in Uganda show improvement in use of family planning services in the country over the last few years. The contraceptive prevalence rate (CPR) increased from 30% in 2011 to 35% in 2015;  accompanied by a decline in the total fertility rate.

Three rural districts made budget allocations for family planning totaling US $20,700 in the Lake Zone of Tanzania, which reports some of the lowest contraceptive prevalence rates in the country. Advocacy led by local Advance Family Planning partner Health Promotion Tanzania (HDT) culminated in the Serengeti District and Tarime Town Councils allocating funding from their own sources for the first time and Musoma Rural District Council more than doubling their family planning allocation from the previous year.
