Before joining AFP, Alana interned with the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Team at CARE USA and worked at the Rwanda Zambia HIV Research Group during her graduate studies, where she supported sexual and reproductive health and accountability projects in sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to graduate school, she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Senegal, interned at the International Center for Research on Women, and supported a communication project to end violence against women and children at Futures Without Violence. She holds a Master of Public Health in Global Health with a concentration in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Population Studies from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and Bachelor of Arts in History from Dickinson College.
