On October 30, 2015, under the high patronage of His Excellence the Governor of Kinshasa, the Provincial Minister of Health, Social Affairs and Humanitarian Actions officially established the Permanent Technical Multisectorial Committee (CTMP) for Family Planning in the City-Province of Kinshasa, the coordinating office of which is presided by ASF/PSI (Coordinator), and assisted by PATHFINDER (Deputy Coordinator).
The Secretariat is held by the Ministry of Health, through the Provincial PNSR and assisted by the Provincial Division of the Ministry of Plan and the Provincial Ministry of Women, Family and Children.
The majority of organizations working in Family Planning in Kinshasa were present, including the provincial political, administrative and health authorities (such as the Minister of Health, the Chief Inspecting Doctor, and the Coordinating Doctor of the National Reproductive Health Program (PNSR).)
This event, made possible by the financial support of AFP/Tulane International, was preceded on October 27 by an advocacy meeting on the CTMP/FP (its history, importance, achievements, operations and challenges), which resulted in the appointment by consensus of the coordinating members of the CTMPP/FP.
For the Minister of Health of Kinshasa, the establishment of the provincial CTMP constitutes a means to support and accelerate the goal towards universal access to Family Planning in Kinshasa.
Moving forward, Kinshasa’s CTMP will plan two workshops: an AFP SMART facilitation to identify advocacy objectives and a workshop to quantify contraceptive needs for 2015-2020.
Mise en place du CTMP/PF dans la Ville Province de Kinshasa
En date du 30 octobre 2015, sous le haut patronage de Son Excellence Monsieur le Gouverneur de la Ville Province de Kinshasa, le Ministre Provincial de la Santé, Affaires Sociales et Actions Humanitaires, a procédé à l’installation officielle du Comité Technique Multisectoriel Permanent (CTMP) de la Ville Province de Kinshasa dont le bureau de coordination est présidé par ASF/PSI (Coordonnateur), secondé par PATHFINDER (Coordonnateur Adjoint).
Le Secrétariat est assuré par le Ministère de la Santé, au travers du PNSR Provincial et secondé par la Division Provincial du Ministère du Plan et le Ministère provincial de Femme, Famille et Enfant.
La majorité d’organisations travaillant dans la Planification Familiale dans la ville-Province de Kinshasa étaient présents y compris les autorités politiques, administratives et sanitaires de niveau provincial (telles que le Ministre de la Santé, le Médecin Inspecteur de Santé, le Médecin coordonnateur de Programme de Santé de la Reproduction (PNSR).
Cet évènement, rendu possible grâce à l’appui financier de AFP/Tulane International, a été précédé quelques jours avant, soit le 27 Octobre 2015 d‘une réunion de sensibilisation sur le CTMP/PF (historique, importance, réalisations, fonctionnement et défis) et qui a about a la désignation par consensus des membres de la Coordination du CTMPP/PF.
Pour le Ministre de la Santé Ville Province de Kinshasa, l’installation du CTMP Province de Kinshasa constitue une démarche pour faire accélérer l’accès universel aux interventions de Planification Familiale dans la ville de Kinshasa et promet son soutien.
Dans les prochaines étapes, le CTMP Kinshasa a prévu l’organisation de deux ateliers, la facilitation AFP SMART pour identifier les objectifs de plaidoyer et la quantification des besoins en contraceptifs pour la période allant de 2015 à 2020.
